Neuschwanstein Castle is nestled up in the mountains, just a short train ride from Munich. It’s one of King Ludwig II of Bavaria’s castles and is exceptionally extravagant. No wonder Walt Disney was inspired by this Bavarian gem.
To visit Neuschwanstein Castle, you first need to get to the town of Hohenschwangau. Next to Hohenschwangau, you can find Lake Alpsee.

Once in Hohenschwangau, you still have to get to Neuschwanstein Castle. There are multiple options and can go either by bus, horse cart or by walking.
Buses will take you up to the Marienbrücke, Bridge of Mary, from where you have a great view of Neuschwanstein. Walking from here to the castle takes about 20 minutes, but it’s an easy path with a gentle downhill slope.

If you want to go inside Neuschwanstein Castle, you have to join a guided tour. Now, for the inside part of the castle, one is not allowed to take any photos so there’s not much to show.
Wonderful imagery of this breathtaking castle. You have captured the essence of the place so well.
